Cuz This Is Thriller

Friday, October 31st, 2008

What is crazy about the vidoe for Thriller is I couldn’t watch the video until I was in college. Like the images in the video were just entirely to much for me and my mom says as a kid I’d make a bee line out of our living room when I THOUGHT the video was coming on. Anyhow have a safe Halloween - the fact that its Friday should add a little more mystique, but could also add a whole lot more foolishness. Be safe out there.

Adrian x Eddy x Red Wing = the internet going nuts…wonderful idea and even better execution can make any project come to fruition. Be on the lookout for even crazier stuff coming soon.

Mick Boogie & Terry Urban: Jay Z & Coldplay - Viva La Hova The Mixtape..this shit is pure flames….download this and it’ll make your Friday alot easier.

After Saadiqs latest album, which is dope GO COP NOW, the only album I’m really looking forward to hearing this fall is Q-Tips The Renaissance. I heard it, hell I was lucky enough to spin with him , and its good music, not just hip hop, but music. Anyhow listen to the album here and delete the downloaded copy from your hard drive. The album drops Tuesday so after you vote for BaRack and change the world and crush people from Southwestern Virginia go cop this and wait for the election results.

Bottle Service Please - Live From Napoleon

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Every Saturday for the past year and a half I’ve had the pleasure of having a residency @ Napoleon Bistro & Lounge in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC. Initially the draw was slow as the restaurant was open for just 5 months when I started spinning there. However over the course of the past year, my partner DJ Stereo Faith and I have built up the night through myspace, facebook, and the best of them all, word of mouth. It doesn’t help that the night is free, they serve champagne in a can, and the drinks are affordable. The atmosphere is sexy, as you walk downstairs into a beautifully decorated room and your ears will be pleased by the sounds of Estelle, Human League, Aretha Franklin, Jay Z, and just about any other popular song of the last 30 years.

Anyhow I recorded part of my 5 hour set on 10-12-08, and here it is for your listening pleasure. Feedback, hate/love is always appreciated.

Monday Morning

Monday, October 27th, 2008

DJ Excel & Gomez Warren IV aka The Perfect Strangers present Hovering Over Hollywood Pt. 4. This mix is very good. Definitely more of a top 40/commercial hip hop feel, but I’m not mad at it at all because this is the shit I play in clubs as well. I HIGHLY recommend grabbing this.

PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR JENNIFER HUDSON AND HER FAMILY. First the mom and brother are murdered and now they find the body of the nephew? So sad…

Even though polls are speaking highly for Obama the fight isn’t over yet. Please don’t forget 4 years ago. Make sure that you go out and vote NEXT Tuesday. Seriously people my brother and father registered because they know the importance of this election and you should too.

NBA Power Rakings always are just that…rankings. I’m hoping the Hawks or Clippers make a solid run in the playoffs this year.

PASE ROCK DOT COM

speaking of Pase Rock….Pictures from the 10 Deep x Fully Fitted CMJ Showcase are a good look. Mel D. Cole is on his grind and took some ill shots.

Do remixes get any better than this?

New York

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Some visuals from the Big Apple.

I know this is supposed to be a display of support, but the execution is kinda coonish/poor.

Of course I was up here for business.

Lots of gift bags (of course I left mine @ Dunkin Donuts)

On Monday I played @ The Syndicates 10th Conflict of Interest Client Appreciation party. Shit was extra dope and extra rocked out. Gotta thank Stereo Faith for the plug.

The entire line up.

Where it was really crackn:

NY in fall is such a good look. Shout out to Omar for coming through and kicking it. I’m DJing in NYC again in November, so check that out if you have time/live in the city/want to hear a really good DJ, holler.

Put On

Colin Powell with the illest endorsement ever. I can’t follow up with anything, but watch, learn, enjoy, and get motivated.

Absolute Classic

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Whats ill about this song is that it rocks in the black clubs as well as Becky spots. I mean it GOES DOWN. Whats my favorite word “BEEEEIIITCH”!!!!

NY was fun, I played well and it was fun to see the people I know up there, eat good food, and party. Believe business was handled and moves were made.

Tittsworth Feat Kid Sister & Pase Rock - WTF (Nadastrom Remix)

Real Mango Juice x Wale & Bun B x Young Gunz…Florida Ave was crackn Friday night as out of towners and locas were getting fresh for Howard Homecoming.

DJ Gomez Warren has an ill week and gives you pictures from all of it. Make sure you pick of his mixes with DJ Excel under the moniker “The Perfect Strangers”. Real dope stuff.

I wish this could’ve been my weekend

h(y)r collective is right, this look is hellla fly…

Killin It

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

DJ AM killing a Nike party in Berlin. Events like these look fun because they are at smaller, intimate spaces that make aren’t cavernous and make you feel like you’re one of the other 6 million people in the club that night.
