The Way I See It

Just got back from seeing Raphael Saadiq live and in concert, and I must say it was a quality quality show. Dude has a new album out, which some say has a 60s throwback sound to it thus causing people to “hate” or judge it unfairly. Either way I know its a great album, and you should pick it up. The dope thing about Saadiqs performance is that he treated it like a hip hop DJ, meaning he was doig only one or two verses of his songs from Tony! Toni! Tone! and Lucy Pearl, but would do all of his new material. I like that approach - keep it moving to the future in the present, while respecting and showing love to the past. If Saadiq comes thru your town, definitely don’t miss out on a chance to see a great musician and excellent performer.
