the rules of nature, keep ya mind on your paper

Thanks to everyone who has been checking the site, leaving comments, and staying with us while we were on a short hiatus. Its times like these in which you have to really appreciate your people. Thank you to everyone who listened to and/or downloaded Holy Cow, we greatly appreciate the feedback and comments. Hold tight as a site redesign is in the works, photos and sidebar should be updated soon as well. Lets go…

Dante Ross gets it in at MAGIC in Vegas. You can tell dude enjoys having friends and speaks highly of everyone he comes across. There are still genuinely good people out there.

More of Dante Ross, Jay Z, and 10 Deep here.

All of you iPhone holders should head over to Appleopolis (if you haven’t already) and get your application download on.

The Labor Day Edition of Top Shoppas is definitely something you don’t want to miss (even though I won’t be able to make it). Uncle Q is dope and I think my man Doddie is spinning too. Should be real dope.

The Gourmet DuJour blog is killing it. Its like a high end streetwear site meets the Food Network and History Channel. A great look and even better read.

H (Street) is for Gentrification….3rd grade city planners? Thats a good start to revitalizing a neighborhood, not a cub district.

Heron P x Times Square (and to a lesser extent Vincent from Thrasher Funds)…Big Things poppin!

As soon as I was ready to get back to this interweb thing my brother posts this:

My name is Kellen, I’m from Mesa, Arizona. I go to the University of Arizona. College has been an interesting ride for me (you live and you learn). My roomate Justin Gin died yesterday morning on Saturday August 25th. Without getting in to too much detail just say I was the last one to see him. You meet people along the way in life who you know are special. Those homies you know that you’ll talk to forever when your friends fall off. Gin was the kinda cat that would give you the shirt off his back. Always a rider gettin me outta the house when I didnt wanna do anything. I might be moving outta my house and go back to Mesa just because. I got outta the house tonight because my other roomate is in Greece and has no idea what has happened. Gin would want me to go out and have a good time in his honor. We were goin to San Diego for Labor Day to chill and hit the beach because thats what he loved. I saw a friend out tonight and she hit the nail on the head. “Dont take the people that you have in your life for granted.” Gin was my homie, say a prayer for him.

RIP Justin Gin

I’m About To Beef Up My Catalog

Friday, August 10th, 2007

So Menage and myself have been at this “rap thing” for the last four years. We’ve traveled up and down I-95, 64, 76, 395, etc. in search of producers, singers, DJs, and whoever else could contribute to our projects.

We’ve hooked up with a producer who is as focused and driven as we are and have consistent studio time. Let me cut the crap and get to the point:

Dupont Menage Holy Cow

Listen to it, PLEASE give us feedback, whatever…

FULL project coming very soon.

Feeling Great

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

From Cosmo himself:

This mix is the sequel to my early summer mix “Feeling Good.” In that mix I tried to capture, using songs that I love and that have a very special meaning to me, a certain feeling that I equate with the beginning of summer. There’s a certain energy and electricity that is about during the first few weeks of the season, when everything seems alive and in it’s right place.

For this mix I wanted to try and capture the stillness of summer, when the air is hot and the days are long, and time seems to be moving at a slower pace than normal. This is a companion piece to “Feeling Good” but it takes a different direction and deals with another type of - but no less intense - energy.

Enjoy!
