gave you a tape full of dope beats to bump when you stroll through in ya hood…

Student Loans = Airplane Tickets!

There is a minor league baseball team in Arizona that has a 13 year old general manager. When I was 13 I was trying to make the 8th grade team and listening to the Chronic and Doggystyle, while this kid is formulating new ways to market his team and find new stats for players. Time to step my game up.

Vans that are rad

26 Reasons What You Think Is Right Is Wrong….wow. Read this. now.

With the Detroit Pistons playing the Cleveland Cavs in the Eastern Conference Finals right now, there have been many comparisons between Lebron James and Michael Jordan, most notably the one stating that the Pistons were the team that stood between each star and a championship. Read how Chuck Daly, the coach of the Pistons in the late 80s and early 90s, revisits the Jordan Rules, and gives you the breakdown on how they worked to stop Michael (well limit him), and how those same rules are being applied to Lebron today.

If you were a kid and killed a 1,000+ pound pig would you feel good about yourself? Like if you see that thing why try to shoot it? A negro such as myself is running in the direction of something bigger than the pig. America, I tell ya…

These skate decks designed by Peter Zimmerman for Mekanism skateboards are very ill. These would definitely be a nice piece to hang on the wall of your apartment/loft/studio/room you grew up in and admire.

Is it too much, too late for Bone Thugs - N - Harmony? I think the songs I’ve heard have been ok, but are they getting raio play in your area? I ask because I haven’t heard to much about them since the album dropped.

put yo pannies on, show your baby rat

First off if you live in the DC area come out to SELAM tonight and hear me and my man DJ Doddie Fresh spin the best in hip hop, R&B, reggae, go go, house, and just about everything else that gets asses shaking. Guaranteed good time, cheap drinks and excellent DJs doin the thang.

Secondly I apologize for not posting as often as I used to, but between new jobs and a personal life I’ve been hella tired lately. Things will be poppin again once it rains, cuz this weather is to nice to stay in, and I find quality time to devote to the site.

DJ A-Trak interview from Modern Fix magazine. Such a good look to get insight from someone who has been doing it, and doing it extremely well for the last 10 years.

Pictures from the Banana Split party @ 205 from a few weeks ago. Jeru, Primo, and tons of other cats were in there. That’ll never happen in D.C. because we don’t get multiple acts in town that live here or are visiting at the same time.

i love the sun…

Gotty & Co. show love to Camp Lo for all the lyrical wizardy they have blessed us with in the past 10 years. I’m waiting for someone, ANYONE to come here and disrespect ‘Lo and the beats they’ve rapped over. I’m ready.

I Miss Cassettes (blog)

Ever since dude did work for Girl & Chocolate skateboards I have been into the art of Evan Hecox. He has a new print up, and judging by the care and detail put into the production of the print, it could be sold out by time you read this. Get on it ASAP!

Pinstack is like the modren meeting place on the interwebs for everything blackberry. Discussions, rumors, name-calling and much more on a forum for a PDA. My BB isn’t even listed on there, thats how wack old my jawn is.

Jesus Piece is riding for Amare real tough. I didn’t even watch the last 2 games, thats how digusted I was and I’m from AZ.

lets dance to the drummers beat…

JESUS PIECE IS BACK!!

I am starting my first residency/party @ Selam (1524 U St. NW Washington DC) next Friday. Read about how the restaurant/club has become the new hot spot for parties and DJs here. I’m not gonna lie, we’re gonna tear that shit down.

The price/hassle of relocating a strip club. Gentrification wins on this one, positive neighborhood development doesn’t.

This BBC/Ice Cream Lookbook is kind of serious. Sure its full of overpriced shorts and shirts, but that pink 2 scoop sweater is absolute HEAT! Damn when my spot gets that I’m going to have to put it on hold. Thats a problem. Riottt blogger Vashtie gives more insight on the lookbook as well.

Pictures from the re-opening/launch of the UBIQ store in Philadelphia (via The Hundreds).

Eff the Spurs. Eff the Spurs fans.

ESPN.coms Page 2 chronicles the stories of Sue Bird (holla!!) & Diana Taurasi and their experiences playing basketball in Moscow versus the WNBA. Basically its about opportunity, respect, and making 6 times more over there than what you make here stateside.

WTF???

feed me rappers or feed me beats…

The New York Observer recently published an article on rich kids who spin aka trustfund DJs and the phenomonon in NYC that is rich kids with connections that no longer want to run their parents companies, but instead want to be pseudo-celebs, entertainers, and DJs. I haven’t heard anyone but the Rub guys spin and I know they are nice. D.C. doesn’t really have this kinda issue, so while it didn’t raise a fire here it sure did here.

ALIFE SESSIONS STARRING BUN B AND MORE….can I get an invite?

Its always a good thing when great minds think alike. I have been killing the Alan Braxe and Fred Falke remix of Bossy by Kelis. DJ Mike B must be feeling the song as well cuz he made an excellent post about it. DJs and music fans alike, download this and thank me (and Mike B) later.

Akon is 34?

NYC: Did anyone attend any of the Brooklyn Designs events this past weekend?

A homeless man is running for mayor of Philadelphia and I hope he wins.

ESPN and their team of analysts give you their list(s) of early impressions of the 2007 playoffs. I’m not sure about any of that, I just know the SUNS need to beat San Antonio or I’m going to be pissed. And Golden State needs a big man and shoot less 3s. And Boozer and Williams are the new Malone and Stockton. And…

never come lame type killin in the game

i turned myself into disco in 1979

REBEL MAG IS HERE

Camp Lo Ticket For Two - this is some smooth ‘97 shit for real. Vad tell me you don’t like this.

Common - The Game

The Rub x Banana Suits….these guys party right.

I don’t care who you are or what kind of DJ you are - you NEED this D.A.N.C.E. 12″ single from French group Justice.

Greatness.

Is this the greatest youtube clip ever? Dork thinks so.

I’m gonna dance my pain away - I’ve got problems…

aint no half steppin, strapped with a nice weapon…

DJs are y’all still playing rap in the clubs? Yes, I am.

Joe Cool x Supreme

Keepin It Right interviews Taz, from Sa-Ra, and its a good read. Dude gives his views on growing up in South Central in the 80s, personal style vs. fashion, and why “The Hollywood Recordings” is a very good album. (first spotted @ DorkMag)

DJ Roctakon - The Good Life (mix) (scroll down)….download this RIGHT NOW people. Thank me later.

A Day in Chinatown NYC

This STUSSY X Undefeated shirt is tough. Defnitely a good look for east coasters, as I think these are in store exclusives.

Associated Fabrication: Brooklyn…ill.

I didn’t know that 90% of the 6.5 billion people in the world go without the products and services we take for granted - thats crazy. The “design community” will host an exhibition in NYC tomorrow that will display 30 products that address the basic needs of the underprivileged majority. Read about it here.

Does anyone have the “Days Like This” (DJ Spinna remix) by Shawn Escoffrey? I NEED that jawn ASAP. I really need any and all Spinna remixs that are on that dance/house smoothed out shit. Holler.

Sometimes its better to be in LA….
