stop actin like a b*tch and put your hands up…

Evolution….this is beyond ill.

His style on the turntables is what they call “mash up” - this NY Times feature on DJ AM is a good story. I definitely didn’t know about dude having a drug problem that was so serious. He has been killing clubs all over the country for the last 3 years REAL heavy. Granted alot of people will credit his popularity to his relationship with his ex-fiance, but DJs know the dude is nice and has been for a minute.

DJ Fashen, who basically has been Arizonas best DJ for the past 10-15 years was on the LA Radio station Power 106 over the X-Mas holidays and spun a cool set. Here is the set broken down into parts one and two. I’ve definitely heard Fashen spin better, but for an “in the club” theme this is right.

The Kicks of Oz

MIKE WHO? Mike Jones Sex Tape….I didn’t, won’t, and haven’t watched it, but go for yours…

A 300 sq. ft. hotel room/apartment that looks like that? Jeez some of these homeowners take the home design thing HELLA serious. Gotta step my G up.

2007 Artist to Watch: Mark Ronson

you can’t be the king in the parking lot

I don’t know what the hell is going on over here. Went from our jawn to Perez Hilton. Have fun, who ever you are.

The Girl/Chocolate DVD Boxset is here for the copping and I suggest you pick it up ASAP. There is some classic skating in those videos, alot of it is still relevant to today. Trust me, grab this up people.

A review of the Blackberry 8800….I’m copping the 870something when this Nextel contract is over in a few months. Patience people.

“Bitch” + “Ho” + “Nigger” =????

DJ Mike B has his mixtape with The Hundreds back on line. Get it while its available people, I listen to it on my iPOD frequetly.

A (Small) Room at the Pod Hotel…a 100 square foot hotel room? I’d be about it, IF the price were less than $30 a night. Knowing Manhattan though, I’m sure it won’t be.

The Shaw neighborhood in NW DC is the nations second bloggiest neighborhood, second only to Clinton Hill in Brooklyn (Grand Ave what up!). This is a result of the white people moving in the gentrification of the neighborhood and and easy access to the internet (aren’t there a few internet cafes on 9 ST.?). Anyhow the beloved Shaw skatepark is down there so I’ve spent a good amount of time in the neighborhood and its a nice place to live…just watch your back.

The 3rd Annual Smallest Coolest Apartment Contest, spotted first via DorkMag, is a sick idea. Definitely has me thinking about how to re-design my spot and get it on some ill sh-t.

Mike Carroll and Jovantae Turner…..break out the decks, its warm people:

On My New York Shit…

Friday, April 20th, 2007

So like I said, I hit NY last weekend to DJ in NYC (my bad Ian) and of course my fascination with photos overtook me. These are one 1/10th of the total photos I took. Some of Williamsburg, Clinton Hill and the Lower East Side. Shouts out to Dallas Penn who I saw in ALIFE and Heron Preston who I saw in Katz Deli (the best $13.45 I’ve ever spent on a pastrami sandwich). My friends said they only do fun shit when I come to town - I take that as a compliment. Peep the shot of the hotel room that was located directly across from the WTC…ill, sad, and breathtaking all at once. SUPER shout to Damian G for allowing me to spin at his party and have such a wonderful time - I owe you big brotha!!

Brooklyn son.

DJ/MC/Producer Pase Rock who has a dope ass live mix killing the interwebs right now.

DJ AM & Stretch Armstrong @ Studio B in Greenpoint. These dudes both rocked the party sick, but DJ Roctakon was the illest that night. So many DJs were in the building that night - DJ Riz, DJ Soul, Cosmo Baker & DJ Ayres, A-Trak, and lord knows who else.

Benny Gold x ALIFE

ill. sad. breathtaking.

never gonna turn around and desert you…

I was in New York this past weekend, for a gig that was - ill you suck if you missed it, and I have tons of pictures and what not to sort through, so hold on til Friday for that. I just found my USB cable, so I’ll have those up soon. Peace to Damian G for having me up there and peace to everyone else who I ran into up there who showed me love.

Does Steve Nash think he’ll win another MVP award? Find out here.

Hate or Love? I’m telling y’all this Rip-Off & Duplicate is some grown up, well executed and designed clothing. This won’t appeal to “sneakerheads” as much so as it will appeal to individuals who have fine taste in clothing and want something a little different, yet still can go with some ALIFE kicks, a CDG Wallet, and a mean pair of denim. Jump in people.

Is it time to revamp the American taxi cab? Over the weekend I really experienced taking a cab for the first time back and forth from Hotels to parties and all throughout the city and its an interesting experience. Its cheaper than I thought, but I’m sure it adds up over time. Obviosuly its not a better alternative than walking/biking to work, but is it cheaper than driving? Quicker?

Why the NFL is terrified of the 2007 Draft….

DC Artist Wale speaks to Hip Hop Game about all of the different phases of his career and how he plans to become the first legit hip hop star out of the nations capital.

Mr. Kim, who gets around like very few do, was in SF over the weekend for the opening of the new HUF skate store. Check out pictures from the event here and here. Is it dudes job just to travel and document relevant points of culture? Thats life right there, not mad at all.

Niketalk alert!!! Ben Baller is the MAN!! Read parts one and two of this interview and see how dude who sold hella sneaks on ebay makes his money (and fame) today.

White Chocolate Dunks….Are you supposed to eat these, freeze them, or trade em n ebay?

Ahh man Throw A Kiss On Them Lips…..hahaha these dudes got at Wayne something real funny. Dude has Waynes flow down pat and actually has some clever lines.

This Mishka Varsity Jacket (pronounced Mee-shka) is quite fire. Its a good look

R.I.P.

Theres nothing else to talk about except the Virginia Tech shooting event. I’m sure you’ve seen it all over the news by now but there really isn’t a song dope enough or event ill enough to not speak on this. R.I.P. to those who were killed and our prayers and thoughts go out to the families and friends of the victims.

cuz I got the crazy game and I’m smooth like butter…

Mike B vs Dickie G…super ill resourceful blog from an L.A. DJ who does his thing at some of the most sought after spots in L.A. and Hollywood and has collaborated with everyone from The Hundreds to DJ AM. Dude is you want to make a west coast mix tape for the summer…HOLLER!!

B-More Bodyland…An Interview with Aaron LaCrate. Cats here hate this guy and have stated so on a consistent basis. I’ve never had any dealings with dude, nor have I put any money in his pockets through buying any of his product.

I suggest all DJs cop/buy/pick up a iGriffin Elevator Stand for your laptop when you are playing out. Keeps your comp elevated and cool and you won’t have any kernal panics messages of death.

DJ Rocktacon, who I’m going to see here on Thursday night (sidenote anyone who wants to let me crash on their couch in BK on thurs…HOLLER!!) gives you young’ns his lowdown on go-go, a dope mix from dj lloydski, and some mp3s to get your go go sets sounding right.

Is wearing a fanny pack waist bag a bad look in ‘07? I hate cluttered pockets, but I’m saying is this too 1991 for 2007?

Even though I always thought he was overlooked and underappreciated, Sadat X was a major force in making Brand Nubian so ill. Kind of like the strong, silent dude, ya know? Anyhow he was interviewed by Slap magazine prior to his incarceration and its a good read. Hold your head homie.
