This was definitely alot wilder upon listening to it, then first thought. The bol Stone and I just went for whatever for a good hour. Hilarious…and part 2 might be better so look for that.
James Brown 40th Anniversary Mix…this is mixed by Salaam Remi so you know its quality…DW!!
Check out what a gang of influnetial DJs from the D.C. area have to say in their 2006 music wrap up…no one picked Dilla??? Anyhow I see you doing big things StereoFaith, make ‘07 even better.
Good new Lupe interview via Format Magazine. Is it me or has Format quietly made a nice mark for themselves in the past 2 months? Anyhow Lupe talks about everything from the Grammys to GQ to his future plans for music and RKF. Get on it.
Listmania 2006 from The Fader. The list of samples for “Donuts” is the obvious highlight for me.
DJ Hyphen Presents - Beats, Rhymes, and Life: From The Soul…get this mixtape people. Dude gives you real mixing, no shouting out to the DJs little cousin on the block, and quality song selection. I’ve heard four of dudes previous tapes, and they are without a doubt excellent work.
Through this ignorant podcast that will soon drop over @ The Couch Sessions, the bol DJ Win-Stone put me onto Joy Denalane. Home girl definitely has some talent and hopefully she will gain more attention in 2007.
Good lookin to everybody who has commented on the new look. We gotta jump of ‘07 in a bigger and better way and making BTY.NET look MORE official is definitely a priority. Hopefully we can get more logos and pictures up top to change every time you click a page, cuz we got some hella funny pictures. ‘07, lets go!
Being that the great state of Arizona is now the fastest growing state I suggest looking into some property out there. 300+ days of warm weather, like 65 on X-mas day, snow 3 hours to the north, and women who workout like Miss USA is always tomorrow? Sheeit get some game with this Home Buying 101 page/guide and get to the Valley of the Sun.
Sal Barbier x the Supreme bowl…carving like its nothing. Look this guy up on youtube and if you can find some of his OG shoes, get em!!
I’m just going to say this…DC is not ready for Commonwealth when it opens. Its going to be a problem…
DJ A Traks MTV Diary (pt.1):
If you are a “street art” enthusiast, such as myself, then you should have been checking Wooster Collective over the past 2 weeks. They have been documenting the art show/experience at 11 Spring Street in NYC with a great deal of in depth coverage from some of the artists and basically reporting from the inside of the building out. There are youtube clips, interviews, and just about every other media type of coverage out there relating to this event. Don’t sleep NYC.
The music of Chromeo has recently been included in my Serato fueled electro/dance set. Good stuff from the guys from Canada, it definitely gets the bedroom DJing party hype. Are there any black groups/bands that make the electro/dance/punk disco/punk pop music (I don’t think TV on the Radio count, even though Wolf like me bangs).
Racism in Texas more than skin deep…hell yea, I’m sure its centuries deep, towns deep, and killings deep.
Kanye West - Get Well Soon…damn this mixtape is like 4 years old now. I remember when I first got it, and drove down to VA from DC listening to it. Dude had, and still has, some bangers.
Has anyone used DVDJ players yet? Peanut Butter Wolf does just fine on them but are they the next level of DJing? Or would this + Serato be the ultimate jump?
We’re not a top 10 hip hop blog and thats ok, because I’d like to think we encompass more than that. However Ian isn’t up there?
If you can’t get to LA during the week to party, live vicariously through THEM JEANS aka Jason Stewart. Dudes Tuesday night party @ Cinespace is that deal and regularly features DJ AM and Steve Aoki on the turntables with him. I’m there when I hit L.A. in March.
I think people are going a tad to hard (no karamo) with these new game systems. Wii Have A Problem documents all of the funny, and not so funny stories regarding peoples experiences with their Nintendo Wii systems. Its not that serious people.
I’m not sure if y’all can tell, but responsibility has kicked in over here. I am past the age of wanting to rent apartment after apartment, and am steady on the look for a house to buy. Between MSN and CNN I am steady checking for housing trends and market analysis, and accoring to CNN these are the 10 housing markets ready for a fall. D.C., Hampton Roads, and Phoenix are all on there…hmmm…time to get this credit right!
As far as the Iverson trade is concerned I think its a great deal for Denver, and will be an interesting test for George Karl. How is he supposed to manage an all world star, a budding all world star, a player with a great upside (J.R. Smith), not to mention a healthy crop of veterans and role players. Larry Brown as a Nuggets consultant? Hmmm…
Yet another positive review for Aloe Blacc’s Shine Through. I saw dude perform in Baltimore in November and he is defiitely a talented individual. He didn’t perform “oNE Inna” (which is the Madlib produced banger), but he did just about everything else on the album, and had the crowd rockin. Gonna try to put my jawn on to this.
D.C….MAJOR is open. Get down there and support DJ Undadog and company and help get the scene in D.C. popping.
Read about The Birth of Cool Hunting Tastemakers and form your own opinion if these people are relevant in your life and contribute to your style at all.
The Don does Miami….homie lives on that Blackberry.
My only Christmas present to my self, that isn’t filed under “records to get the party started” or “pay bills young Rome”.
Jay-Z for President in 2008??? No.. Not of Def Jam, but the U S of A!?! Sounds kinda ill. He would have the baddest First Lady ever though…
DJ Clue interview as to why he recently dropped a new album on us so unexpectedly like bird sh-t… However, it does have a few solid tracks on it.
My NFL Rookie of The Year award goes to Devin Hester of the Bears.. Bul is really doin it.. Hurricane product also loves being in the spotlight too.. 4 of his 6 TD’s came under National TV games…WIsh I could catch more games out here in Finland though.. Keep grindin playboy!!!
AI to Denver??? Trade for 50 million dollar man Nene, dude stays with ice bags on his knees.. throw in JR Smith??? maybe a first rd pick? I am real interested in to where he may end up.. Its gonna be murder where ever he goes.. HEART!!!

The Nike Air Tech Challenges that are supposed to retro in 2007 are SUPER different than the OGs. These are not the heat that was to be expected and mauled over. I’m not even sure if I’m coping any more.
Stone states that his 2006 City of the Year is: Baltimore. I know I’ve been running up there hella in the last 6 months, so I can’t totally knock it. It made be hipster heaven in the eyes of the fader/pitchfork/etc., but there are HELLA issues up there that The Wire can’t cover.
The Rapture in Europe:
Dante Ross (if you don’t know, u need to ask someone) gives you the visual lowdown on Art Basel ‘06. Dude got it in something real tough. Thats just another networking opportunity we missed, gotta be there next year.
Baltimore Ravens receiver Mark Clayton learns that life is about helping others. Its good to hear positive stores about athletes instead of cats complaing about how much they’re not getting paid or when their album drops.
NBA players are getting paid. That sh-t is just ridiculous. I don’t think there are small countries that are seeing that Michael Finley is getting paid by a team that he DOESN’T EVEN PLAY FOR.
bury me a G nothin more nothin less, when I get where I’m going I just gotta be fresh
Young Jeezy, Project Pat, and Three 6 Mafia Hoodrat
This Bullet Chain t-shirt from Broken Home is real right. Subtle yet still enough of an eye catcher to warrant some crazy looks and “where did u get that from” questions.
In the very near future sex offenders in Virginia won’t be able to log onto MySpace or sites similar to it? I’m not sure how many readers live in or have been through the tidewater or Richmond areas, but they have billboards with the slogan “Isn’t she a little young” all over the highways. This is obviously a state wide problem and its a good thing to see the state try to take some action against it.
CNN talks to people and finds out that:America is still racist…did it ever stop? Can you truly say you know someone who isn’t? Subtle racism and discrimination (and sometimes not so subtle) are issues that people face everyday
Scissorkick….the design of this blog is very ipod-esque/very ill.
Is it me or does Nike not pump as much money into their golf program as they used to? I know you’re like WTF, but Tiger used to have the illest commercials, that inspired you to want to go to the putting jumpoff on a date and try to show off in front of your girl. Anyhow Tiger re-upped w/Nike for I’m sure what will amount to a healthy and hefty contract. My nephews are 9 and 6 and already are on that putting green FOCUSED!!
Reason Clothing interviews Denis from Mighty Healthy about all maintaining a clothing brand and pushing it to the “NEXT” level. Denis is good peoples and has looked out for the betterthanyours fam a few times. Cop all things MIGHTY HEALTHY here.

In this post about jig words, Dallas and co. provide edutainment in the finest form.
The Hundreds Holiday Line is looking real solid. This isn’t all of the line, but all of this is real impressive.
Fat Joe speaks on Jay/50 “He is equivalent to bubbles in Michael Jackson” “50 cent is David Blaine” Im not a huge Joe fan, but the interview was clown shoes..
Talib Kweli give us an update on his upcoming album Liberation. “The album is done, and it will be out shortly, trust.”
Also Talib has a new Mixtape out right now titled “Blacksmith the Movement” Sh- is blazin!! Production by J. Dilla; beats from “Donuts”, Hi-Tek, 9th Wonder, Madlib, and Kanye…
More Lil’ Wayne off the Dedication pt. 1 mixtape. Speaking on Def Jam and how close he was last year to signing.
Why does every rapper think they have the cred to take a stabs at Jordan Hov? Im at a loss for words.. I guess everyone is tryin to be A.I. and cross him(twice).. ill Dallas Penn is wild
Did Jay-Z buy 200,000 copies of his own album to inflate his numbers?? Could be the reason for his 81% drop from week 1 to 2???
Tomorrow, Dec 10th Nike will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary for its classic played out Air Force 1’s. Kanye, Nas, Rakim and KRS-One will perform a song by Rick Ruben dedicated to the Air Force 1.
Shout to to my guy Derek Anderson of the Cleveland Browns who got his first NFL start this past Thursday vs. Pitt. dude played with me while attending Oregon State… Finally gettin some love.. Derek Anderson threw for 276 yards, 1 td in the loss to Pitt.
