real people do real things for money often

NEW MIGHTY HEALTHY OVER @ BOUNDLESS NY…grab it while you can people…

Excellent review of the Clipse album spotted at Oh Word.

PILEUP...ill online portfolio of a graphic designer who did the Chrome Children poster for the recent Stones Throw 10th Anniversary tour.

Skateparks, skatespots, and such….great resource if you are traveling through Western Pennsylvania.

Yet another Jay Z article….Hovas Slight Return

Skateboarder magazine has a write up on the Get Familiar premier that took place in D.C. a few weekends ago. Looks like a great time was had. I can’t front we were in the studio so I was a little salt I missed this, but its cool I’ll catch the next one.

Spliff Huxtable….your online stop for ill instrumentals that we don’t steal fine.

Nas feat. Game - QB True G

DJs get your sampler sounding right with every horn, gun shot, and laser you need from find sounds. Such a good look if I must say so.

Supposed to Bubble

The power of M.O.P. and beer make for a fun weekend.

for a couple of hours….such a beautiful day…

Hope everybody had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend. I know that I got it in down in the 804 and 757, and of course a good time was had. We’ve got something real ill jumping off tomorrow so definitely check back…onto the regular goodness..

Rich Boy and The Game Throw Some Ds (remix)

MC Hammer x Death Row? Pick that album up here. Production featuring Johnny J, Daz, and Dre.

New Darren Harper interview from the Slap Forums. Dude gives you the story of his upbringing for the majority of this interview, but he gives you insight into hustlin, skating, and these D.C. streets.

Banksy x Disneyland? And theres video of it too? Sheesh dude is fearless and creative to say the least…homie gets it in!!

Vik vs. the brand new ‘Nati? Dude is giving you the real on that situation (which is similar to so many other big cities that faced the same fate)

These low top Jordan 1 retroes are not the business. Maybe they’ll grow on me once they drop, but as of right now, they are not good business.

and what we have is much more than they can see…

NEW!! DUPONT MENAGE!!!

Love Is A Woman

Heard Ye Say

Common - A Dream

DJ Clue feat Fabo & Kanye West Like This

I just picked up the new John Legend album ,and I must say it is sure fire quality. I’m not really an R&B dude, but get fellas, if not for more than something to play when your lady is cooking thanksgiving dinner. Anyhow read this interview w/Legend where he speaks on everything from inspiration, success, and following up his first album.

The Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii dropped in the same weekend? Man gamers dropped some stupid cheese this weekend. I’m cool on both, mainly due to the fact, I don’t have time to use either machine for their gaming purposes. Strictly turntables over here people…

I’ve seen Brian Tucci skate at the same school I skate at alot over the past month or so. I guess it beats getting harassed by cops down @ Freedom Plaza. Anyhow dude is nice and has been for a while. Read this interview w/Brian Tucci about his love of skating, why he chose DC over SF, and what keeps him on his board everyday.

The Fader has an extended interview with some of the artists that worked with the late, great J. Dilla. I listen to Donuts every morning before I jump on the turntables and 303 just for inspiration. Excellent read right there.

The Hundreds x Hov….dude is like a one man marketing machine. Wonder if this will appeal to their fans or turn them off?

I’m glad that ESPN finally agrees with me on something: its time (and has been) to trade KG. The Wolves are going nowhere and will continue that route with or without KG. He needs a fresh start and a chance at a ring…Sixers?

I didn’t know that Miss Shaw was the 17th Most Influential 80s baby…ok I see big things are going down.

Hip Hop Site says that More Fish is a classic (scroll about half way down)…thats a great look for Ghost, but unless Jay Z says it on a song with Fergie on the hook and (insert southern rapper here) someone else spitting, hes STILL not going to be able to sell (although it’ll get downloaded like hell).

Ian is a hipster blogger!! And look Discobelle gives him a shout to prove it!!! Gotta love the anonymous commenters…

R.I.P. DJ Screw

This is ill…a Brazilian artist creates his pieces by cleaning soot off the walls of the tunnels in Sao Paulo. Definitely inventive and an example of using the environment around you to its best ability.

Over on his myspace, Just Blaze has some behind the scenes footage of the making of “Why You Hate The Game”. Always good to see the creative, in-studio process and the hard work it takes to make “songs” and not just beats.

Pastor Troy - No Mo Play in GA….MANNNNN this was the ‘99/2000 banger. If a DJ wanted to start a fight or see chairs flt, he’d drop this and every Hampton Univ. party would turn straight into chaos…WE READY, WE READY WE READY!!!!

Biochemical Slang gives you a visual account of why money won’t solve the problems of Camden, NJ. Apparently, jazz cafes won’t either.

Being a player on the Arizona Cardinals is embarassing? For real though, I don’t know if being a fam or player is more embarassing. I don’t fault the players, just the tradition of loserdom that haunts that organization.

more in the am…

Remember this:

I must be Lebron James if hes Jordan…

Get Familiar Part 3: Chris Hall Interview…I conducted this interview with D.C. skate/sneaker legend Chris Hall back in September and he was gracious enough to shoot me some solid answers on his opinion of everything related to skate, sneakers, and the DC “scene” today.

Aform…yet ANOTHER soon to be open sneaker spot in the DC/MD/VA area. Heres hoping that they do well..

Learn about the history of and order some Baltimore Club Tracks all on the same site. A definite good resource, but is this stuff popular outside of Bmore/DC/DE?

Find out about the roots of the International Sneaker Battle and how a sneakerheads love for sneaks turned into a solid east coast showcase.

NO MORE Wu Tang????

The Jazz are 7-1 and the second best team in the NBA??? I don’t know if they’ll still be crackn come March, but thats a good look for Boozer and Williams, who are off to strong starts.

Rolling Stone gives you the first ever Happy Birthday Chuck Berry mixtape…put the youngns on to something new (at least when they’re in the car, after that go back to jeezy/game/jay/etc.).

Is the hate for Nike and Nike SB that serious to sh-t on a pair of dunks and put it all over the internet? Come on fellas use your enegry for something useful like…skating those dunks!!!

At least 4 people are getting this fisheye camera for XMAS. I’m trying to tell y’all the jawn I have is mad fun and it really helps me stunt in the streets, feeling all professional esque. Got me looking at a digital 35mm for myself for XMAS.

I rhyme greater, than the average playa hater…

yo hes nice, but thats on the low though…

By now I’m SURE you’ve heard the Nas/Jay collab Black Republican (heres another link just in case) and the Snoop/Jay/Mac Mall albums so I want give those up. However have you heard the NEW YOUNG JEEZY, I AM THE STREET DREAM? FIYAHH!!! Better than can’t ban the snowman, but I don’t think anything can top Trap or Die. Get this while its up people.

Full Force - Ain’t My Type of Hype…go ahead and throw in House Party when you grab this. Thats easily one of the best 3 scenes in the movie.

Mack 10 - Fo Life…rollin thru the hood w/strife!!!

Mash is a movie documenting the culture and lifestyle of bike riders in San Francisco and their daily get down. Lots of good footage here of riders bombing some of the illest hills in the country and didging death frequently. I know Benny Gold did some designs and stickers for these guys and those turned out excellent.

A Day in Latin New York: Un Dia de Nueva York….this is a real nice glimple into the Latin side of NYC. A nice guide that will help you get around the city, burroughs, and everywhere else you want to visit that has a strong Latin population/influence.

Technical difficulty? I can’t say all the ejections and technical fouls that the NBA has dished out so far this season has helped. Its definitely proven that David Stern is the most powerful league boss in any sport. Players gotta control their emotions towards the refs and the refs gotta chill.

Bullssazo, a Korean punk rock band covers JDillas “Time: Donut of the Heart”:

Anybody cop the Zoom Lebron IV NYC editions yesterday? The design is crazy and the shoe is a winner, but $250? Not sure about those homie…

Nas x Def Jam x Big Homie x Album Release Party x The Fader…I’ve yet to hear anything from Nas that would have me even remotely excited for his album, but hey some of y’all are. In the meantime Nas fans be sure to check out FACT. Nasir Jones is the Greatest Rapper Breathing. Most of his best verses, songs, and freestyles are in there. You’ll thank me later.

Most ridiculous comments people make to DJs….come on people don’t be that bad. Seriously I know some of this stuff HAS TO be made up, people can’t be that dumb. Jeez…

John McCain for president? I don’t even have alot to say about this one but…NO!

Is Extreme Home Makeover a bunch of bs? Maybe so…

Get even MORE familiar:

Gino Iannucci interview….just read it…

F.A.B. x Track x Lyrics…..YEEE!!!

Lil Wayne and Curren$y - New Orleans Classic

The Democrats took VA??..

…shame on the people of AZ for approving some f-cked up immigration measures in the effort to keep people out.

I caught the show in Baltimore on Sunday night, but if you didn’t here are photos from the Stones Throw Chrome Children tour. Definitely a quality show if you are into the Stones Throw sound, I know I enjoyed it.

Arizona heads get on it: DJ AM and Travis Barker will be @ Axis/Radius on November 17th. Granted the crowd will probably be as Hollywood as Snottsdale gets, but you should be in the building just to peep dudes technical skills.

Thrasher Magazine 2006 Skater of the Year Daewon Song speaks on all things related to creative spots, his video parts, and his love for manuals. Excellent read.

Stripperless in Seattle?

This new skatepark in Goodyear, AZ is the definition of ill. D.C. is needing a skatepark in the worst way, cuz the joint I skate isn’t cutting it anymore.
