Is Sway, who I think is corny as hell, really an O.G.? He keeps saying it on MTV but can anyone confirm?
Do your research, Rome. Sway is an architect of the modern hip hop mixshow with his legendary Sway & Tech Radio Show. The fact that you can even come out your mouth to call him corny is evidence of how f-cked the youth hip hop audience is. I hate to be on some old man ish but some kids do not know what the f-ck they are talking about as far as this music goes but start dissing others who helped build what they are enjoying today - WTF??
Im 100% positive Rome nows about the Sway & Tech Radio Show, MOST people do. But dude is corny as hell when hes on MTV. Comes off as a dickrider in my opinion. Whether you’re “OG” or not corny is corny. That MTV money must be good.
Ian - cmon bee….i know about dudes wake up show, i have both audio and video tapes from all throughout the 90s. i’m from the southwest and they used to play the show late friday nights so i’ve heard my fair share of wake up shows. When I say O.G. I’m not necessarily speakingon his radio days, but his ” mtv james/dircet effect - holier than thou, i am hip hop attitude”. Everyone of those my blocks episodes, homie looked like an outsider Dude just seems SO CORNY to me - personality wise.

If you know about the Wake-Up show how can you even ask if he’s OG or not? The questions answers itself. Corny is J Nicks, Mad Linx and a whole host of others who are way out of their depth doing their thing on TV. As far as I’m concerned dude is hip hop and the most credible hip hop personality on TV who isn’t just reading off a teleprompter. Who’s more on point than him? Don’t worry, I’ll wait while U answer that one….
I saw him at the cheesecake factory in Marina Del Rey weekend before last…but I think OGs eat cheesecake - so basically i’ont know.
