Method Man & Ghostface - The Afterparty

Focus and Record

Are there cameras in Soho or South St.? Well DC is might put cameras in one of its trendier nightlife districts/neighborhoods. I can’t lie the drunk white dudes get it in and negroes do rob hella people and smoke in public out there, but is that an invasion of privacy or a community safe guard?

Who Is The Next Black Leader?

ONE FIVE SEVEN

The Harlem Boys Choir is facing eviction yet at the same time Exxon Mobil sets a profit record and capped a banner year. What is the world coming to?

I remember “Back to Reality” by the Inteligent Hoodlum. That was, and still is, my shit. Now Tragedy Khadafi is the same dude, but reincarneted as a coke slingin, mfaia nigga who never caught his break in the rap game. He had a solid, if not unspectacular, career as a rapper. Anyhow he released an album titled Thug Matrix (wtf), but read what dude says about his career, other rappers, etc.

Big L -No Endz, No Skinz (video)

Was there really an doubt in anybody’s mind that it wasn’t going to happen? Anyhow Nas signed to Def Jam and seems like its a goodl look for his pockets. I’m hoping that this means a good amount of Just Blaze cuts will be on

More pictures of Nikes Year of the Cock Tour (nh)…they’re sneakers people wear them.

Robin Thicke seems to be gaining alot of attention as of lately from his single and the jawn he produced for Lil Baby Wayne. I didn’t know he wrote for Usher and Mary J…anyway solid interview from dude.

College students don’t have real life skills? I mean damn, thats just..

The Jordan Defining Moments Package is gonna be ignorant. I’m not mad at the $300 price tag, but lining up @ footaction because my connects long lost cousin already gave him $500 for a pair is sickening. Decisions decisions…

A Monument to Ignorance aka the smallest skatepark ever…ahh man…

B.I.G.s mom is only getting 1.1 million? Did’n the article in Rolling Stone state that she could basically bankrupt the city if she won a new lawsuit?

Is Jamie Foxx really this big of a star? Metamorphosis? Does anyone remember him on In Living Color or even his show (BET!!)? I definitely respect what dude is doing, but one single + dropping around xmas time is smart marketing. Whats his second single?

I’m not even commenting on Kobe…

Unleaded World

If profits surge, yet shares fall should I invest in Apple? I already own 3 lap tops and 3 ipods, but should i throw some of that under the mattress money @ Steve Jobs?

Listen to this Lupe Fiasco interview….

A solid, if not damn good, read on Carmelo Anthony , who I think has a gang of talent, but needs to stay the f*ck away from the hip hop industry. We understand you are from gritty B-Mmore Melo, but u live in a penthouse in downtown Denver negro. Wise up.

NIGGAZ AND WHITE GIRLZ

Lord Digga!! The microphone mutulator with the hard core data, I mash muthph*ckas like potatAs…DJ Haze & co. give shine on one of the most slept on cats to play Pippen to Masta Aces Jordan. Some of the beats on Slaughtahouse were un-fucking-believable. I mean on some ill sample, hard drums, these niggas had to be smoking hella weed type dope. I need to find that tape again.

A Complete Idiots Guide to Having a Black Friend

Hear “Naomi” by Cool and Dre…that song is currently my sh-t.

theres one life, one love, so there can only be one king…

verbal ak spray

just a few things as I’m hella busy trying to finish this mixtape and return emails…

*Cartel Goods

*New T.I.…beat is real tuff, I’m surprised DJ Toomp hasn’t been getting more work a la Mannie Fresh, because dude has dropped nothing but fire on T.I.s last 2 releases.

*My love and appreciation for the mixtape is documented. So what I’m on my own d-ck.

*Kamoji!! Negro I understand a lack of motiavtion and desire to blog about the same sh-t others are talking about, but thats when you gotta switch it up on em. Remember its about quality dude. You’re not a gossip blog or fan appreciation blog, and keepin it real, the best blogs probably have the visitors in the hundreds (nothin against u 2,000+ visitor a day having bloggers). Keep rising to the top.

*Full albums WILL return to this site. I respect what Ian was saying, but I don’t see how I am hurting the artists, who see pennies for every album that is bought.

*I just figured out how to work my betterthanyours.net e mail to work people so that will be my main email from this point on (cuz I pay for it).

*Cop all the Lemar and Dauley (and tons of other hot sh*t) here

Yay Areas Finest…

The relationshop between hip hop music and females seems to always walk the thin line between love and hate. Artists make songs for females, but on the next track will be disrespecting those same females like they don’t have a mother. I can’t respect it. I can respect Es Shaw however. She keeps it real with her opinionon the state of the music and culture.

As one of the leading purveyors of online hip hop sites that cover everything from news to breaking artists, Es got that crack y’all. I was supposed to post this over @ the jumpoff but I wanted to show some personal love to homegirl for linking me the past week, preparing my latest mixtape for visual superiority and just being a cool ass person….

whats crackn chica, whats going on?
Whats the business rome..

For those that don’t already know, explain yourself and your site
(background, history, location, etc.)?

I started beautiful hustle, maybe three, four months ago. Alas, someone hated on me regarding me putting up music, and complained to my server who shut the site down. Because the site was in high demand, random people offered space, time, and cash.. but I denied it for a good minute. Then, my girl up in the town, Ardella hooked it up and I’m back online like whaaaaaat, lol! Nah but, the site basically right now is my little area as to where I can showcase music, artists, and news. People know me as one to always have something new and hot so I figure, fuck it let me share this with the world. It’s based here, where I am.. Sacramento. And being a big part of the bay area scene, and being born and raised in the bay myself, alot of beautifulhustle will focus on the Bay Area… and the countless emails I’ve received of people commending that is all love.

What is the biggest story of 2005?…both personally and professionally?
Biggest story of 2005? RIP Tookie. People will say, “he deserved it..”, “well if he hadn’t killed four people..”, “let him hang..”, but people do not realize that it is BIGGER then Tookie, and probably never will. The lopsided ass level at which black males get the death penalty is the bigger picture we all need to look at. The way that others who have done more, who get away with more, who are white, is part of the bigger picture we need to wake up to. Those who are pro-death penalty, and still have the balls (however small they are), to go to church on Sunday, knowing that man will never be, has never been one to judge? No words.

Who had the best album (of any genre, u know that OTHER shit) and why?
Best album - Too damn many to name. I’m lovin the new Lil Wayne, Carter II of course. It’s just ridiculous. And then there is Three 6 Mafia’s album, The Most Known Unknowns, Shit I enjoyed Twistas album.. production is ridiculous. Just too many, I can’t narrow it down to one. And mixtapes, dont get me started on mixtapes! From Thizz Nation and Doonie and Laroo to The Clipse and The Suffix..

Being that the 3 of you are important to the game, how do u see the world of blogs as it relates to african american news, celebrities, and music?
It’s next up to bat. There are bloggers who are just regular people like you and I. There are bloggers who write for Vibe, XXL, and The Source. There are writers for the AP who blog. There are celebrities who blog. It’s a way of getting out our words to those who may or may not relate, but who understand. Theres Fresh and Angel writing about black pop culture, because it does exist. And here I am writing about hip hop music, and all that pertains to it.. because it isn’t publicized as it should be through main media outlets.

Why do u feel like some of the bigger and more popular blogs don’t pay attention to african american issues, news, music, etc.?
Plays puppet in the game, writes what the crowd wants to hear, writes what will attract the crowd. No solid opinion whatsoever.

What makes you want to read a site and what doesn’t make you want to read a site (any site from cnn to whatever)?
Content. Text. Appearance. If you’ve got more then enough content on your page, it’ll keep me on there. If the text I’m reading appeals to me, and gives off as if you know what you’re writing about, and if it evokes an emotion from me, it’ll keep me on there. If your shit aint booboo ugly, I will stay on there.

What do u think is the most pressing issue for the hip hop community? Also what do u think is the least pressing issue for the hip hop community that gets the most attention?
The beef and the No Snitching movement being commercialized and sold to the masses on T-Shirts for $9.99. The stupid beef and shit that has resulted in the beef this year has really been irritating me. It’s funny at times, but the way shit plays out, you can just tell who bitched out and who is just playing it for publicity. Either way, in any beef, both sides lose. Thus.. people come together (peep Nas & J.Hova). As for the Stop Snitching shit, the act in itself, has been around for the longest, and the fact that these kids out here are rocking the shirts, not knowing the basis of it just thinking “Oh, you don’t snitch period.”, is ignorance to me. “Well yeah, many have died because they DIDNT snitch..”, but many more have been saved because they didn’t snitch either. It’s more then a tee-shirt.

Who wins the H.A.M. (y’all know) award for 2005?
Vivica A Fox.

What are you looking fwd to the most in 2006?
Progression in life, music, and art. Also, E-40 The Ghetto Report Card, Lil Wayne - The Carter III, T.I - The King, and the Bay Area steppin up to bat and hittin a home run!!

What can we expect from you and your site/movement in 2006?
The site will expand, trust that. It will involve alot more music, and alot more artists. As for me, I’m working with alot of people right now, and stepping my game up within the music industry. With that, and with the site.. there will be more to look foward to, for me, and my readers. Still the same ol humble female Im known to be, just a little bit more to be humble about.

Any last words/shout outs?

Fresh for ‘06 Turbtable Lab has a new online interface and from what I’ve been told from my LA representatives the store out there is the truth as well.

A message for you smart dumb cats out there: you can’t be fat and healthy at the same time. Just because you eat salads with your triple cheeseburger doesn’t mean you eat healthy either.

Rick Ross Hustlin via [ DJ Benzi ]

I didn’t even know that Kevin Garnett made Oprah cry with a letter that he wrote. Not even cry, but break break down (bone & mariah). I’m glad Scoop put the media on blast for NOT giving this the due attention it deserved.

N*gga is you crazy + Quicke Mart = Ehtiopian Idol…hahahahahaha

What would be your justification for buying Ipod ready Levis? I mean really people let me know.

When they say that there are the 100 best companies to work for in America, are they referring to everyone in a company or just executive positions? Is making coffee at Starbucks better than making coffee at Caribou coffee?

Spice 1, Tom Green, and Tom Green?

Masta Ace Born to Roll

Maybe Pharrell can skate….maybe not.

Marcus Vick: what the hell negro? You must not want to get drafted on the 87th day of the draft. Dude heres the move to sace your career: lie and say you’ve been addicted to pain killers or something. You are in a super deep hole now player ham.

Can you feel the righteous kung fu vibe? Lupe has been doin it way chubby these last couple of months with all the features in the mags, mixtapes heating up, and touch the sky being the next single. Hes ready.

Weezy F x Nelly Furtado via the fader

Good list of slept on 2005 rap jawns. The sh-t about Jay is hella true.

I am always interested in the behind the scenes and creative process of the music industry, so I’m not even gonna front or lie but last night I watched the mtv show w/the o town dude. I mean from the jump rule #4080 was in effect. I’m on it.
