The Gulliest Rappers of All Time via [Byron Crawford]

S/FJ getting taken to task about Diplo, DJ Shadow, and “black music”.

I know America and the American Dream is supposed to be where its at, but damn is it worth being stuffed inside a horse trailer? Cot damn.

Hip Hop Politics

For all of you new jack kids that are fresh into the Houston “scene”: Bun B, Pimp C, and Rap-A-Lot vs. Swishahouse…UGK is still the best group to come out of Texas in my opinion just on the strength of their grind and success w/o the support of the major label they are on. Bun B might be the most in-demand and most respected rapper of the moment.

LADIES: Can We Talk? Silas answer my email YOUNG, I’m still trying to get down with the movement!!

Barcelona/Times Square on the Potomac? DC wants to be that deal so bad. Just annex Northen Va and Mont County Md. and y’all will be that real deal “city” that you want to be.

I need the definitive list of songs that I MUST play @ a wedding. Mind u the wedding is in D.C. so I got the go-go, but I’m talking about mainly 70s and 80s soul and R&B…hit me!

You did qualify this with an “in my opinion” but, as much as I love UGK too, how you gonna front on the Geto Boys?!!

its mos def my opinion…but how relevant have the geto boys been in the past 5 years? aside from “the fix” i don’t think they’ve making any real noise, at least as a collective.

yo im in bk nxt wkend (24-26)…u got anything crackn?

@ the wedding you should play:
Yarbrough & Peoples - Don’t Stop the Music
    Quincy Jones - Razzamatazz
Gap Band - Early In The Morning

    Yup.

Best group honors doesn’t have anything to do with whose been more crackin’ most recently. And even on that count, I don’t think they would take it anyway. UGK NEVER had any real national hits ever. Bun B is a cult favorite MC whose recent impact as a solo MC is totally trumped by the influence of Scarface’s solo work and cameos. I love UGK but there’s no contest here. For “My Minds Playing Tricks…” alone Geto Boys got it and UGK, Lil Flip, and the Swisha House-related MC’s et al. will forever have their work cut out trying to nab best group honors from them.
