BIZZY BONE LOSING HIS MIND…ahh man this is golden!!! Peep his new song as well….HAHAHAHAHA…wild funnies.

Dru Down Pimp of the Year

The Hundreds gives you the low down on brknhome. I don’t own any of their shirts, but their designs are always fresh and hella clean.

One of the most coonerific moments in rap music history. Here is the video for Mighty Caseys - White Girls….

….on another note here is a great moment in hiphop history - Jay Z - Dead Presidents..peep when Biggie throws his dice and he says “Who Shot Ya”..dude was that n*gga twice.

THE TOFU HUT

Get your NBA Playoff lingo on point to fully comprehend whats going down in this years playoffs.

When you are getting interviewd by CNN.COM you know you are doin it big….first round draft pick coming, who is mike jones came and did the damn thing.

I’ve been slipping this past season (past 3 really), but I still think the Simpsons is the best show on tv. Some episodes are for kids and some aren’t, either way I need to get my box set game up. 350 episodes? They are doing something right.

Catch John Legend in your city.

Cop the re release of Endtroducing with all the extra “deluxe” stuff.

The state of Arizona will host another bowl game in 2007. Thats a good look for the economy and all that, but will the game matter? I know its supposed to be the College Superbowl so hopefully it’ll really decide who is college footballs lone champ.

a grown ass man i done paid my dues, learn the rules lil homie you could be one to…

groove to it while you’re doin it up

My light skin pale people can I ask y’all 1 question? What sense does it make to wear a hoody, jeans, and then sandals? Let me know people. Anyhow lets get it…

Once again back is the incredible…NEW SHIT!!!…Dupont Menage Intro. Produced by myself and Vers from The Senate (you gotta give niggas props or you get a law suit). Crazy ill country sample that we looped up and Menage spit over. We think its heat. And yes there are drums on this cut.

its the INTRO again in case the other jawn dies… this joint knocks alot harder in the whip, but its cool enough for y’all to hear…i definitely need to re do it and get it crackn for the future.

The young bul Cas speaks on all things familiar to a hustla. Dude got this thing on in the first version of the song, but the rmx is ehh. I’m tellin y’all if he woulda thrown the Clipse on the remix it would’ve been video worthy. Indy labels get at me if you have an A&R position open.

Soviet Panda

Ras Kass and Fat Joe share dual covers of the new Elemental. Its definitely good to see Ras get some good shine as far as magazines are concerned, but dude needs bangers for his career next album to matter.

The Complex Simplicity Syndrome

I’m not sure how many pro-DipSetters/Hipsters are gonna be into this but Da Back Wudz - Ur Gonna Love Me is kinda that crack. Dudes don’t really say a whole lot (dipset-ish) but the track is tuff.

5 Ways to Unleash the Music

If the Washington Wizards want to win I have 3 words for them: STOP BEN GORDON!! Dude went nuts against them last night, giving them a tuff 30. I can understand it though, dude used to light up the Big East on the regular.

The LA/Mexico version of the P-Rods are kinda saucy. I wonder how they hold up after a few good sessions.

all my corner n*ggas robbin killn die just to make a living huh….

hey mama

Allergies are kickin my ass, but lets get it:

The Thug Life of State Property II. Dame is really trying to get it in. I respect his hustle, but his attitude is too arrogant w/o the humbleness and ability to admit his faults like the Dropout. Either way getting a movie that should have gone straight to video in theaters is a big accomplishment.

NEW KANYE WEST!!! Diamonds - I like the second verse, alot. Dude is really trying to spit his mic game up. This isn’t a first single to me, more of a solid album cut, #6 or 11. I’m sure Late Registration will have its soul sampled lead single and some Brion/Mayer emo ness as well. Truth be told though, as big as a Kanye fan as I am, I’m not buying this album if Home and My Way aren’t on there.

kc a jew

Karma is a biatch.

Borf has been getting it in. I’ve seen the majority of dudes work in NW Washington which means he hasn’t reached all city status yet. I’m not hating, just stating the facts ppl. I mean dude has killed everything from 5th St. NW up to Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, etc. but you gotta get it in all over the citty in order to be on some king shit. If anything I woulda started in the Northeast and Southeast and then made my way to NW. Either way I got mean streaks, Priority mail stickers, and magnum 44s so get ready folk.

Lebron deserved it, the Nets earned it.

poplicks

Download just the Explicit Content version of Straight Out of Compton? Isn’t that pretty much the entire CD anyway? [via crailtap]

Grand Puba is maing a comeback? If he can get some mid 90s Alamo production behind him (or Pete Rock) dude could have a banger on his hands.

Vad stop hating!! NEW CAMP LO - Gotcha This jawn was on repeat 6 times last night. This is so post Uptown Saturday Night Camp Lo. Heat all the way around people. Download it and step your sample game up (as I will step my drums, bassline, etc. game up).

Its a bad deal that Cracks latest album got pushed back again (Sample clearance issues should make Cool and Dre step their game up) but read about dude. I think his ghostwriters have gotten much better on the mic as of late. (I may have linked this before, if so read it again).

Mariah #1? I knew u could do it baby, just call me.

L.A. is the real deal but all that glitters is not gold…

everyday grindin

The Vindication of Jay Z? That biter/writer auido sparked alot of discussion, love, hate etc. about Hov and whether he was nice or not. U gotta respect dude with or without the biter/writer bit.

you suck at watching rap…

An F for Handsome Boy Modeling Schools live show? DAAAAMMNN!!!

While you were watching this a gang of people were getting their pope collectible game up.

Just Blaze talks Fruity Loops and 9th Wonder.

The Mica Menagerie (blizzog)

PHOENIX, ARIZONA STAND THE F#$K UP (damn Rome its not that serious) Z-Trip interview. I saw dude spin 4 or 5 years ago at some hole in the wall in tempe/scottsdale w/Cut Chemist and they killed it. Similar to what alot of mash up/new wave/80s spiinin djs are doing now a days - but better.

Virginias most underappreciated beat maker Nottz speaks on it….Part 2

introducin the man you got to see to believe, he got the mic in his hand so keep the heat up ya sleeve

talk about it

First and foremost a good look and thanks to everyone who checked out and left comments regarding

Is Phoenix the NBAs top team? I can’t say I disagree, however I don’t know if a team can use the run-n-gun style of offense to outscore teams to a NBA Championship. I’d like to see it though, I’d definitely get back to Arizona for the parade and bevy of after parties hosted by Ced Ceballos (flow, flow onnnn!!).

Cop Nicks new mix tape for that U St./Adams Morgan night in your apartment….

My First Love

Hip Hop With a Measure of Hope? The poetry/spoken word movement is popular here in D.C. but its just something that I can’t really get with yet. I respect it on an expressionist level, as a means for people to get their art/talent/feelings out to the world, but sometimes when they whisper and then yell right after I either think they have Tourettes or are on some comedian Martin Lawrence sh-t.

Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Aaliyah and Missy Elliot were infleunces on the music of….Maroon 5? Good music doesn’t discriminate, obviously.

FIVES w/Chico Brenes

Only at Blogmental can the pen be mightier than the board…

An extremely funny and on-point list of the most disappointing MCs. I mean really this is all subjective depending on who you like, etc. but some of the generalizations made and MCs mentioned should be on everyones lists.

I Love This Game! The theme week going on over at Straight Bangin should lead all NBA fans into the playoffs real nicely.

The first song I really “produced”. When I say produced I mean more than finding and chopping the sample because I had help with that from 2 others. This shit right here though is first song I “produced” because I had a hand in everything from the vocals, finding the sample, chopping it, NOT adding drums, etc.

Enjoy, spread around, burn, play for Jay Z etc.

Dupont Menage - Can’t Say No

The Re-Up Gang (in case this link dies)….

its not JAYZ its my man Dupont Menage and Can’t Say No

its not Kanye, but its jerome baker and dupont menage and another one

3rd time is the charm - can’t say no (i hope this isn’t the same cut kanye sampled for his new album).

people let me know if its hittin or not, the good, the bad and the ugly!!

like handball cuz the mans all that, all fat….

its alright

I was drving yesterday as the man in black had Pennsylvania Ave locked down and was wondering what the deal was. I mean dude had a hella serious stand off with all types of feds, yet tourists were watching and walking by like it was a joke. The way dude was actin I think he was trying to see how the defense around the capital was set up. Like he might be working with someone else so be careful folks.

Rappers and Bad Behavior? I don’t think the majority of decent rap mags give you good coverage of an artist, so I wasn’t expecting much from the CNN entertainment section. If you are going to cover an artist do a good job of background checking. If you’re going to relate an artist to a broader activity or part of the culture show why they are linked, show pros/cons….either way its good to read about Sigel.

Who would’ve thought at this point in the season that the Denver Nuggets are the best team in the NBA right now. If Melo can really take the knowledge that Karl is hitting him off with and use it to improve his game, he could be scary good.

You can’t argue with Kanye West and Lebron James being named to Time Magazines 100 Most Influential People. Whats even iller is that Jay Z isn’t listed under artists and entertainers, but is listed under Builders and Titans along with Rupert Murdoch and Steve Jobs. HOV!!!

Teaching the Indie kids to Dance again

If you didn’t get enough of the album this weekend (which I didn’t) get ready for more Common. With Kanye at the helm directing his first sex themed cut this could push Common to a 50s TRL audience.

It does seem like kids are wildin and more disrespectful today than previous generations. I can agree that they are cursing hella more than when we were youngns. The Bill Cosby movement is real.

The DC skate team does their take on march madness with some outrageous shots that are hella fake, but entertaining to watch.

Futura interview courtesy of Hypebeast.

What Do You Know About Crate Diggin? Homie I get it in every Friday for a good 3-5 hours. Goin through hella dust, lookin and listening to old records that aren’t sh-t or don’t have any breaks on them. Crate diggin is definitely an acquired taste.

The most uncategorizable figure in hip hop….Devin the Dude interview up at SLAP.

they say a party aint a party til the west had it…

take a look around

Shout to the bul Arun who was in town over the weekend. We got it in this past Saturday skating a fire ass spot at this high school, Freedom Plaza, and finally Shaw park. Skating the city has to be one of the best aspects of street skating. Going between cars, people asking you to impress them, etc. Arun was getting it in with the waitresses @ Hooters as well. He could have had this foreign chic if he really wanted to. Either way dude is good peoples.

JAZZHAMMER.

Camoflauge apes are here to take over the internet. How long before another hot company comes on and Bape gets replaced?

As far as the Common album is concerned, I saw a clip of Common rhyming over a JayDee beat that is the truth. Safe to say Common didn’t rhyme over the beat (at least its not on the album), but here is Elzhi of Slum Village killing it….Elzhi - Love It Here

Its definitely a good thing that Matthew Hale got 40 year for trying to have that judge killed. Dude had cajones just for trying to get a judge killed. Either way RIP to the family of the judge that was slain.

she real cool

DJ Benzi

Funny Pics, Hot Chicks and Cool Flicks spells out Big Boys as clearly as possible.

Jean Grae has to be the funniest (only?) female MC nowadays. Her interview on AllHipHop is funny. Is she single? If so I’m throwing some beats her way as fast as I can.

Technology in 2005 is on some next sh-t. Hackers have been able to add chat and internet features to the PSP, when Sony didn’t equip the unit with them initially. I might have to cop that joint if I get on my road trip grizzly this summer.
