“What a Difference a Year Makes”
So its been 1 year already huh? Rome, Vad, X, and Ryland have been getting it in. It’s crazy how some things fall in line and just go as they should. A year ago, I was just going to work. Just getting up and wondering why dont I have a psychology class to cheat in anymore. Wondering why I dont have an extra ticket to go get some dried up chicken in the cafeteria with. I was mad that I couldnt stay up all night, go to class late and just sign my name on the roll. Work was getting irritating, VERY Fast. Now a year later, I’m not exactly riding down “Easy” Street, nor am I approaching “Everything’s a Go” Avenue. But a year later I have alot to look forward to. Part of my new outlook on life has to do with this website.
Back in October, Ryland hit me on the email and told me to check out his article on ‘Rome’s site. I didnt know about the site at all. I went, checked it out and it was cool. I said to myself “These dudes just cut a fool everyday……I can do this……….matter of fact…….I ALREADY do this”. So I sent ‘Rome an email. Told em how I liked the site. It was real cool. ‘Rome hit me back and said thanx for the support and all. So then………..outta nowhere I just asked em. “Man you need to let me get on here and write”. Ryland had told em about me and the fellas that write on my site anyway. So he knew we were wild. So ‘Rome said I could send em something for his site. I thought he was BS’n for real. And for real….. I WAS the one BS’n. I just asked to ask. But he said yeah! I saw em at Homecoming weeks later. He asked when I was gonna send em something? So when I got home I sent em something. He liked it, he posted it, readers liked it………and months later here I am still writing. What was a one-time joke turned into me getting my own site and now working on getting material published.
The term “Lord Willin, Rome Feelin” means alot to me. Thats why so often, I say it on my own site. That saying means, if its meant for me to be here and ‘Rome feels it……..then Im a keep on going. ‘Rome was the person who made me know that this is real. He made me believe that I had what it took. Not only did he give me the opportunity to write, he made me step up. At the end of 2003, he wrote an entry and he targeted all of his people. He told me to step it up and get my stuff published. Thats when I woke up and realized that I could do this writing thing. I have people who email me weekly about how they like what I’m doing. We play alot on the site and we have fun, but it’s given me a new outlook on life.
So to the man who gave me a chance…….thanks alot homie. I know I’ll see you at the top.
